Castro Martin, Albariño grape, Rias-Baixas D.O. - this is the most
important white wine region in Spain and enjoys an excellent international
reputation primarily because of the Albariño grape which makes aromatic,
glyceric, fruity wines that are a great match for many of the seafood dishes
in Galicia. We have evaluated many wineries from this important Spanish
region and found that Castro Martin, from the Ribadabia sub-region, has
a very good range of Albariño wines with excellent typicity and lower
acidity. They have an entry level, a top range and one in oak which provides
all the choices needed to properly show a good range of Rias Baixas albariño
wines. They also have excellent ratings from the Gourmets Wine guide, one
of the most important in Spain. (www.bodegascastromartin.com)
