A
new generation of innovative, small- to medium-sized Spanish wineries
and small food companies have united to form Spanish-Passion: The Spanish
Food and Wine Group. Spanish Passion is heavily focused towards wines
with complementary gourmet food products and is comprised of one winery
from each region that most actively promotes developments in technology
and wine styles that typify the region. The Group was formed by leading
wineries that saw a need to join forces to educate the Asian consumer
about the Spanish food and wine world. Its mission is to offer the Asian
market a new, simplified way to buy quality Spanish wines with added support
in for education and marketing.
As a result, Spanish Passion has opened an office in Malaysia and has
appointed Victor E. De Jesus as General Manager for Asia. Victor will
be travelling to all the Asian countries to delivery on the marketing
support promised by the group.
The name Spanish Passion reflects the passion felt by the producers for
their products. It is this passion and know how that the group intends
to bring to the Asian markets. Unique in terms of its range of regions
and superior quality, Spanish Passion offers distributors “one-stop-shopping”
for leading Spanish wines with complementary high end gourmet food products.
In addition, all Group members are committed to personal contact with
distributors, sales staff, accounts, and consumers, providing direct access
to winery principals as well. “This is only the beginning,”
promises Nicola Thornton, one of the groups founders. “We are very
excited about this new, innovative venture. We have the right portfolio
and the right structure in the market. Victor De Jesus has spent many
years promoting Spanish gastronomy and is well equipped to take our message
to the market. The market is now ripe for new things from the high end
gourmet world. We just need to work hard educating people about the amazing
